Bali.

The first of many.

This was the 1st of many to come. Bali was chosen as the start of my personal goal to see the world. But like many, everything needed a kick start and for this the spark was Zai's new job. 2 weeks before the trip Zai, Syl and me were hanging out @ our usual, coffeeshop - Raimah and somewhere along our conversations it was decided we all should go on a trip together before Zai starts his new job plus it was a mini victory celebration for Syl for making it so far in Singapore Idol but as for myself this was a beginning of a beautiful journey to step out of tiny, cosy sunny island called Singapore.

I've heard so much about Bali, but why listen when you can see for yourself. And its more fun when u have great company with you.

1st day in Bali

Nothing beats a cozy hotel, slightly out of the main Kuta town where all the actions were taking place. Green Gardens Resort & Spa was there to make our trip a memorable one.

Hats were in place, shades were ready and a couple of thousand Rupias were stuffed in our pockets for the days ahead, and we were all set to go. And not forgetting the most important thing, the driver. To get to places in Bali takes quite awhile especially with the traffic, so hiring Pak Putu was quite a good idea for this 1st trip.

Kintamani, Lunch by a volcano anyone?

With a breathtaking view of the active Mount Batur, how often do you have lunch by a volcano??

The coffee farm

Its like Pak Putu knew we like to chill after a great meal, next stop was the coffee farm.

So whats to special about the coffee we had, besides having them on a hill top with an awesome view?
Well what we had was the famous Luwak Coffee or you can call it the 'cat poop coffee'.
It’s a gourmetvcoffee made from the ripest coffee berries which has been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of this animal (Luwak). The civets eat the berries but the beans inside them pass through their system undigested. The Luwak graciously deposits them on the jungle floor where they are eagerly collected by the local coffee farmers.

Jimbaran

Bali is the life, one moment you're having lunch by the volcano the next thing you're having dinner by the beach.
Sunset by the beach, great spread of seafood, live music. What more can I say. Thats Jimbaran for you.
